Star’s Corner: Your Journey to Self-Discovery
Discovering yourself takes time. Look at who you were ten, or even 20 years ago. You’ve grown, you’ve learned, you’ve evolved.
There have been many times in my life and throughout my career when I’ve stopped to ponder… Who am I? Is this where I’m meant to be? I’ve always aspired to be a force for positive change and now I stand confidently in the path God has created for me, and harness that passion to be a leader and advocate for women. I use my voice to take action, give back and create awareness of issues affecting the lives of women and girls throughout our communities and the world.
As President of NAPW, I lead an incredible network of like-minded professional women who support, encourage and inspire each other to aim high and follow their dreams. I believe that passion for what you believe in places you on a path to happiness and success.
If you’re trying to figure out what your passion is or where you are meant to be, try these tips. They’ve helped me in my own journey to self-discovery.
Do some soul searching. Your passion is an extension of yourself. Only YOU have the power to fully understand who you are.
Keep it real! Stay grounded to your principles and don’t assimilate to others’ expectations. It’s all about truth, self-ownership and individuality.
Once you find your passion and start walking in your purpose, expect adversity. Conjure the strength to rise above the challenges and forge ahead.
Always keep your mind open. Be aware of new opportunities and willing to experience the untried. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
