Star’s Corner: Broadway Bound – 2014 NAPW National Networking Conference

“A simple hello could lead to a million things.” —Anonymous

Enter stage right… Our premier networking event is this Friday, April 25th. And, ladies, there will be no lullabies on Broadway this weekend as we make some networking noise and… Power up at the 2014 NAPW National Networking Conference. Aspire. Connect. Achieve.

When referred to separately, these three simple words — aspire, connect, achieve — can mean anything to anyone. However, when placed together, they provide a profound punch of powerful positive impact to professional women everywhere!

Each of us has our own unique set of aspirations, specific to our dreams, desires and professional goals. I have found that there are many aspects of what it means to aspire that all professional women have in common, especially the professional women of NAPW. It is a mindset, viewpoint and belief that:

  1. “Failure is a stepping stone to greatness,” to quote my friend, Oprah Winfrey. When we fail, we learn, move on and succeed. And, should circumstances require, repeat as necessary.
  2. We pursue with passion. Choosing a career or business path is based on one simple measure: Would you do this job for free? If you answer, yes, then you are pursuing with passion.
  3. We will be the best we can possibly be. Through self-awareness, good judgment, continuous education and expanding our knowledge base, we become well-rounded women, personally and professionally.
  4. Making a difference in the world matters. We must give as good as we get, and even better. Influencing young women is our duty and our honor. Giving back to society is our privilege. Inspiring future generations of women, our gift to ourselves and the world.

How do we fulfill our aspirations? Live our dreams? Achieve our grand goals? One word: Relationships.

Connecting with people is THE key to success, personally and professionally. Every situation that places us among the company of others is a chance for a positive networking experience. It’s cultivating, nurturing and maintaining these connections that change our lives forever. It is important that these relationships have depth and meaning; superficiality won’t cut it. You must get to know people, build upon your authenticity of character and integrity, while sharing experiences with these connections. And, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – It’s not what someone else can do for you, it’s about what you can do for them, too. Networking works both ways. And, given time, it’s a win-win for everyone!

Yes, the potential for greatness lives within each of us. Finding your greatness depends on how deep within yourself you are willing to look. It’s about what you want to achieve, not what society tells you to achieve. No matter how big or small your goals, you must follow your passion and only you have the power to step above and beyond limitations, real or imagined. Stated simply: Go for it! Strive and believe in order to achieve.

That said. Our 2014 National Networking Conference is YOUR ultimate networking opportunity. This conference has the show-stopping powerful potential to change your life forever, created especially for you because… You aspire to business and career success, so you must connect with others to achieve your goals.

Remember: All it takes to start networking is a simple hello.

See you on Broadway… at the conference, of course!
