October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Disability Awareness Month and Bullying Awareness Month

Sparkling in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
with our Orland Park Chapter

They sparkled with support and compassionate hearts! NAPW Orland Park Local Chapter President Helen Morgan and her team held a charity event to support NAPW Foundation philanthropic partner, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Guest speaker, Maria Deire shared her inspirational personal journey. NAPW members and guests enjoyed a fun evening, which included dinner, music and raffles. $10 from each ticket sold and 100% from each raffle ticket benefited the BCRF.

Mastermind Networking
with our Tacoma Chapter

Have a problem? The NAPW Tacoma Chapter can solve it! Chapter President,  Anne Tipper and her team will hold an event where members will come prepared with a problem that needs a solution or something in their business that is causing them to be stuck. Members will receive ideas, solutions and resources to help move their businesses forward. 100% of proceeds from the event goes directly towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to support the cause.

Making a Difference for Mimi
with our Carrollton Chapter

Throughout the month of October, NAPW Carrollton Local Chapter President Janet Bernstein and her team will highlight Heavenly Mimi, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients by researching for a cure and providing financial assistance with screenings for early detection. Marilyn “Mimi” Laporta fought her brave battle with cancer until the end. She was a very special person who always believed in paying it forward and wanted to help anyone she could. It is in memory and with humble honor that Heavenly Mimi was founded by her daughter, Allison Byrd-Haley.

A ‘Sprint’ of Support
with our Los Angeles Chapter

It’s a walk (or run) in the park—literally! NAPW Los Angeles Local Chapter President Ruth Garcia-Corrales and her team participated in the Run4Care 5k/10k run & family fun festival. Run4Care is a small, but mighty team of givers and a couple of feisty breast cancer survivors who are committed to helping women get the financial, medical and psychological care they need to thrive and survive the big 4: Breast Cancer, Heart Disease, Stroke and Diabetes.

Standing up to Bullying
with our Palo Alto Chapter

They’re not gonna take it…anymore! NAPW Palo Alto Chapter President Anita Bist and her team hosted a Bullying Awareness Lunch and discussed workplace bullying and solutions. NAPW members were empowered as they learned how to take back their power in the corporate workplace. They also enjoyed networking and making new friends.

A Penny for Your Thoughts
with our Gulf Coast Chapter 

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., 1 of 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. NAPW Gulf Coast Local Chapter President Andrea Riley and her team shared their thoughts, feelings and concerns about breast cancer at their event. NAPW members decorated and filled mason jars with pennies (and other coins) to raise money for the cause, and wore pink attire and accessories to raise awareness. Prizes will be given for most creative decorated jar and most amount of jars filled.

Breast Cancer and the Law
with our Manchester Chapter

The more you know…NAPW Manchester Local Chapter President Jennifer Pendleton and her team educated each other about breast cancer and shared ideas on how to raise awareness. Guest speaker, Jennie Halstead from My Breast Cancer Support discussed Breast Cancer awareness, as well as current legislation pertaining to the disease.

Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season – a time to acknowledge and give thanks for the blessings we received throughout the year and the goals we achieved. Let’s pay it forward and help those less fortunate by making a difference in the lives of women and girls in our local communities and around the globe.

Veterans Appreciation
Salute our US Veterans! Pay special tribute to the brave, selfless women and men for their military service. They are our defenders, advancing the universal hope of freedom, ready to give the ultimate sacrifice for our country if necessary. Honor them and say thank you for a job well done.
