Dear NAPW community,
On behalf of NAPW, I extend my thoughts, compassion and prayers to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The states impacted are home to a significant portion of our membership, with more than 10,000 members and 18 chapters in those regions.
In the coming days, we will continue to hear stories of heartache and distress, as well as inspiring ones about those helping one another. Of course, I am not surprised that many NAPW members have been asking how they might assist other members who are affected by the storms – that’s why NAPW is the community you can count on.
Some ways in which you can help:
- Log into your NAPW.com profile, connect with those in an affected community and let your sisters know what resources you may have and /or services you can provide. Offer to help get them through this tough time.
- Donate to a reputable charity that is helping the relief efforts. The American Red Cross has made it easy to help, and you can donate directly on their website. All the living US Presidents have launched the One America Appeal to help our fellow citizens in Texas and Florida as they recover and rebuild.
Over the next few weeks we will share more resources and opportunities to assist in the rebuilding process. During times like this I am reminded of a great quote: “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”
Please join me in helping our fellow sisters and lend a helping hand. If you have any questions, please call our members services team at 888.852.1600.
Yours in Service,
Star Jones, NAPW President
