BeConnected – NAPW eChapter Roundup with Louise Newsome

Welcome to ‘BeConnected,’ where I’ll discuss important details from our most recent eChapter events and keep our members informed on upcoming events before they happen.

At our recent eChapter event, we discussed having it all and how to create a healthy, effective work-life integration. We heard from Star who shared a list of invaluable tips on how to manage the balancing act. Three of our VIP members joined the panel for an informative, thought-provoking discussion on prioritizing, time management and goal setting in our personal and professional lives. We will be airing a live replay of this event on Wednesday, December 14th at 12pm – Register here.

Here’s some inspiring wisdom and advice from our panelists:

Geraldine Cantrell
Licensed Psychotherapist, Artist and Author

Geraldine shared 5 steps to stay motivated and reach your goals:

1. Be prepared to come up against your own resistance
2. Implement structure. Keep promises you make to yourself and others
3. Practice flexibility, patience and perseverance
4. Take note of what’s working and what’s not
5. Ask for help and listen to your intuition

Deep Laxmi
Founder and Certified Coach,
Director of Quality Management, ACADIA Pharmaceuticals

Deep discussed her thoughts on having it all and balancing family and work:

“I define my balance every day and every moment. When I’m with the kids, I’m with the kids. When I’m at work, then I’m at work. First, you must define what ‘all’ is. What it is for you may be different than what it means for someone else, so define what it means for you and go for it.”

Words of wisdom from Lira about achieving perfection:

“You need to let go of trying to achieve ‘perfection’ and ‘approval’. Nothing is nor ever will be perfect.”

Keep a lookout in your inbox for information about upcoming events! We’ll be hosting replays bi-weekly after each of our live events, so please come back if you wish to listen again and network with new attendees from around the country, as the networking portion is always live. The replays also give me a chance to be in the chat room and witness what is happening there…and do a little live networking myself! It has been so exciting to see women exchanging ideas, email addresses and even setting up in-person coffee meetings!
